DVD 1: The Value of In-Home Sleep Studies
Insomnia is a common and often chronic complaint in clinical settings. The National Sleep Foundation estimates that 69 million Americans report chronic insomnia and 150 million report occasional insomnia in any given year. Until now, clinicians rarely had training or objective tools to assess and help patients who reported suboptimal sleep. With the help of FDA approved home sleep studies and neurotransmitter/hormone biomarker assessments, clinicians are now informed with the data they need to help their patients sleep their best. Welcome to a new, comprehensive approach to optimizing neurotransmitter and hormone function and improving insomnia complaints in your patients.
This presentation focuses on the SleepImage™ M1 device: a FDA approved home sleep study machine. Dr. Theirl walks you through:
· The basics of the SleepImage™ M1 device
· Health implications of optimal sleep quality and quantity
· How to objectify your patients’ sleep patterns
· Comorbid disorders that occur with insomnia such as hypertension, insulin resistance, poor cognitive function and mood disorders.
Also included is a line by line interpretation of the SleepImage™ report using one of Dr. Theirl’s personal case studies so that you can feel comfortable presenting a clinical report of findings to your patients. You will take away how to help your patients understand their sleep strengths, weaknesses, personal sleep index score and most importantly their opportunities for improvement.
Run time: approximately 60 minutes

DVD 2: Neurotransmitter and Hormone Biomarker Testing
This presentation focuses on laboratory biomarker testing, specifically neurotransmitters and the hormones cortisol and melatonin. Dr. Theirl introduces you to the NeuroScience, Inc./Pharmasan Labs test kit and hot to use it when addressing different types of insomnia. Your take-home information includes:
· Role of the nervous system in sleep
· How stress effects sleep patterns
· Review of the biochemistry of stress
· How to determine what stage of stress response (or adrenal fatigue) your patient is experiencing
· How the stages of stress manifest in clinical presentations
· Different approaches to helping each stage
· Inhibitory and excitatory neurotransmitters are individually defined as related to insomnia
· 5 common biomarker patterns associated with suboptimal sleep are detailed
Dr. Theirl walks you through, the line by line interpretation of a neurotransmitter/cortisol/melatonin test using one of his personal case studies, so that you feel comfortable presenting a clinical report of findings to your patients, helping them understand their individual biochemical response and most importantly, their opportunities for improvement. Lastly, he will share his recommendations for this case study and show the pre/post treatment improvements on biomarker testing and sleep study scores.

DVD 3: Insomnia Case Studies and Clinical Applications
Dr. Theirl begins with a summary review of the SleepImage™ home sleep study device and the NeuroScience, Inc. urine neurotransmitter / salivary cortisol and melatonin tests. You will understand the 5 common biomarker patterns associated with suboptimal sleep so you can easily apply them in your practice. He then presents 3 cases, outlining interpretation of test results and specific supplement recommendations and finishes by showing the post-treatment sleep study, neurotransmitter and hormone test results. This comprehensive pre/post treatment case study review is designed to empower healthcare providers with the tools and confidence necessary for clinical success.
